A private voice assistant for work on your Mac
For people who live in their Mac all day: managers and remote workers, developers, writers and researchers, designers and editors. Rubidu keeps your hands on your work and your words on your Mac.
What it does for a working day
- Focus sessions and timers. "Start a focus session", "set a timer for ten minutes", shown in the menu bar.
- Dictate into any app. Hold a key and speak; the words appear where your cursor is, offline.
- Read this to me. Select text in any app and have it read aloud while you do something else.
- Transcribe recordings. A meeting recording or voice memo becomes text on your Mac.
- Presenting mode. Say "I'm presenting" and Rubidu turns professional, hides its words bubble and the desktop sticky note, and keeps jokes and sounds off until you are done.
- Exact commands. Open apps, switch windows, volume, brightness, Wi-Fi, calendar and mail summaries, by voice.
For developers
A developer mode with dry technical humour, and an AI model that runs entirely on your machine, so nothing from your screen or your code is sent to a service.
Questions
Will it work during calls?
Rubidu notices when another app is using the microphone and, by default, lets go of it so it never competes with your call.
Which Macs?
Macs with Apple silicon and 16 GB of memory, on macOS 26.2 or later.
